Maternity sessions have my heart! And what a treat it was to meet up in Atlanta with Amanda and Daniel for their maternity session. We have a pretty special relationship with these two; Amanda’s sister, Hannah, married my cousin, Daniel, and so now we are all one big happy family! Yes they both married men named Daniel, isn’t that such a coincidence? It’s really fun when you get to that stage in life when your family is growing, whether it’s weddings or babies, new life in the family is such a gift! No matter who the clients are, I am always so thankful when any individual (family or not) trusts me with the special privilege of taking photographs to document a special season of life.
Since having my own baby last December, maternity and newborn sessions have quickly become very special for me to document. I remember how I felt being pregnant with our first child. It was such a special privilege to carry our son. And though pregnancy came with it’s fair share of aches, pains, and fatigue, I felt blessed to have my son so close to me, knowing that my body was miraculously providing everything he needed to thrive, grow, and be oh so cozy. The closer his due date came, the more the anticipation to see his beautiful face grew. At the same time, the desire to savor my pregnancy journey lingered.
That is why I find maternity photography to be so beautiful, and so worth documenting. I hope you will enjoy many of my favorites from Amanda and Daniels spring maternity session.
