You know when someone comes into your life at just the right time? At exactly the moment you needed them, you just didn’t know you needed them? Well that is what happened when I met Becker, as I call her. Our relationship started when I took a film photography class at my university. Becker was the dark-room assistant, I can’t tell you how much she helped me calm my nerves and gave me advice. Film photography is one thing, but developing the negatives and then making prints and enlargements really scared me! Thankfully Becker was there to help. We found out we had the same major and were taking some of the same classes and how we both had a passion for photography! A year later we were both starting our own photography businesses and yet again, Becker was there to help and inspire me to go for it!
One day she called and asked if I would be interested in setting up a styled shoot with her! I had always wanted to do a styled shoot and thought it would be so fun to do my first one with a good friend so we could figure it out together! We had a beautiful vision for how we wanted it all to turn out….and it turned out nothing like we had envisioned but it did snow on the exact day that we were hoping for even though we set the date two weeks in advance! Because of the snow, we had to change our location last minute and some of the vendors we had lined up for the shoot were unable to make it but we continued on and had a great time together watching each other shoot, giving each other ideas, and I believe the outcome was exactly what it was supposed to be.
