We rounded the bend in the park that curves around Feneketlen Lake and were met with a cute couple, smiling from ear to ear. “This must be them!” I said to myself, their giddiness gave it away 🙂 You see, while Bence and I were in Hungary this summer we had a lovely opportunity to shoot an engagement session! It had always been our dream to do a photoshoot in Budapest, Hungary but we never had the opportunity outside of the family, until now! Our brother in law had some friends in town from Germany, and Jannik was planning to propose to his girlfriend while they were in Hungary, since this is where she is originally from. He had the whole morning planned, and the grand finale? He wanted engagement photos taken to document the special occasion! It just so happened that Bence and I were in town and free on the day he planned to propose and so our brother in law set the whole thing up for us 🙂 I wish all of our engagement sessions could happen on the day of the proposal because these two were so precious together, they had just gotten engaged an hour prior to the sessions start time and they were still giddy with excitement.
Jannik and Naomi are such precious people. Their love and commitment to one another is so beautiful and we are so thankful that we got to know them while we were all in Hungary! We started the session at the beautiful Feneketlen Lake, with the gorgeous Church of Szentimreváros in the background. After we walked around the lake, we headed to one of my favorite places in Budapest, Fisherman’s Bastion! This gorgeous structure was the perfect place to continue their session. We were all a little bit nervous that there would be lots of people there in the afternoon, since it is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Hungary. But God was gracious and there weren’t that many people there as we anticipated! We were able to work around the tourists, and the sun, and captured some lovely images of this perfectly adorable couple. It was such a dream! We ended our time in the cutests little Hungarian restaurant, lunching on some of Hungary’s seriously delicious cuisine. It was such a special day for all of us, and one that we will remember for years to come.
Jannik and Naomi, thank you for trusting two photographers from America that you had never met before to capture such a special day in your lives. It was an absolute honor to capture your love and your joy from behind our cameras.
p.s. Here is a really fun fact for you! In Germany, the guy gets to wear an engagement ring too! Isn’t that fun? They both get to enjoy wearing engagement rings during the engagement period on their left hand. Then, they get matching wedding bands to wear on the right hand! I love learning about engagement and wedding traditions from other countries and I thought you might find that interesting too!
xoxo Sharayah and Bence

Have you ever thought about adding a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is valuable and all. However imagine if you added some great pictures or videos to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with images and videos, this website could certainly be one of the best in its niche. Excellent blog!
