The storm clouds rolled in and it rained, all morning. We were constantly looking out the window and checking the radar praying that the massive storm hovering over us in Savannah, Georgia would pass! The rain drops lightened as we drove to the gorgeous Wormsloe Plantation for the ceremony, and just as if on cue, the rain stopped and the sun peaked through the gorgeous live oaks and swaying spanish moss just minutes before Valerie walked down the tree lined road to marry her highschool sweetheart.
Valerie and Kris are two of the sweetest people you will ever meet. They are both calm, lovely people to be around and shooting their destination wedding in Savannah was the perfect location for these two to get married. It was intimate, special, and very meaningful. Surrounded by the ones they love, they read their own vows to one another, both holding back the tears. Their passion and love for one another is truly evident in the way that they speak to, and care for one another. We couldn’t be more happy for these two and their marriage!
With simple yet gorgeous touches like Valerie’s delicate blush dress and peony bouquet, the Historic charm and history of Savannah was the perfect backdrop for their romantic photos together and a truly enjoyable day. After they said “I do” under the Spanish Moss, we headed over to the Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens for an intimate reception and enjoyed Valerie and Kris’ favorite Mexican food (seriously some of the best wedding food we have had!), and delicious cake. One thing that stood out to us about Valerie and Kris’ wedding was the way that they totally made it their own. They didn’t feel pressured by tradition or social standards and crafted their day around who they are as a couple, and the things that they enjoy together…like eating yummy Mexican food!
It was an absolute joy to spend the weekend with Valerie, Kris and their families. Bence and I feel truly honored to have been invited into such a special day, and treated just like family by everyone there. I am still in awe that we get to do this for our job, and we are so thankful.
Congratulations Valerie and Kris! Thank you for having us be a part of your truly breathtaking wedding day! We won’t forget it 🙂
